La politecnica de Timisoara se fundó en 1921 por Trian Lalescu y se forma enteramente con estudiantes Rumanos de la famosa Universidad que da nombre al equipo "La Politecnica de Timisoara", es uno de los clubes europeos pioneros en el futbol universitario.
Entre 1924 y 1927 el equipo tuvo un rendimiento bueno que hizo que varios de sus jugadores fueran llamados a la selección nacional,Sfera, Ignuţa, V. Deheleanu, V. Chiroiu, I. Pop, T. Protopopescu and Graţian Sepi.
Esta epoca de primigenia brillantez se fué al traste cuando muchos de sus grandes jugadores dejaron el equipo y la Poli terminó volviendo a jugar ligas locales y de bajo nivel.

En 1948 los violetas vuelven a primera división lo que supuso una enorme alegría para la ciudad quedando tercera en 5 ocasiones entre 1950 y 1978, además de establecerse sin problemas en la primera división Rumana llego a ganar la Copa de Rumania dos veces in 1958 contra Progresul Bucureşti, y en 1980 contra Steaua Bucureşti, más 5 Subcampeonatos de Copa.

Las competiciones europeas han dado algunos encuentros históricos para el club blanquivioleta que nunca perdió en su casa (ni en 1992 contra el Real Madrid) y pasó eliminatorias contra Celtic de Glasgow o Atlético de Madrid .entre otros.

videos from a meeting organized by the Poli Timisoara supporters(CVUCS=Commando Viola Ultra Curva Sud), against the outrageous decisions of TAS(Tribunel du Arbitraj Sportiv...in Laussane) that took side of Claudio Zambon,an italian thief that bought our club years ago and moved the team to Bucharest, currently beeing in the 4`th league from Romania! So the meeting was organized to keep the right to wear our colours and name. Unfortunately TAS send another decision to the romanian federation of football and from june 30 2008 we will not be allowed to wear the name Politehnica and Timisoara in the same sentence,and they will not allow us to wear any kind of purple,violet! Anyway things will not remain like this because we love our colors and name and we will not give up another fight against the system!There are a lot of other informations...this is only to understand why 10000 people came on the streets!

Unfortunately I don't have time...I will move in Denmark in short time and will have no access to internet...but if you post on our forum this question maybe someone will have time!
When I can,and if there are big news about our team I will post them!!!

Poli Timisoara has ended the season on the 6'th place in Romania's first division with 57 pts., being qualified for the first round of UEFA cup; who wins the match from the first round will play in the group stage.
In the last match against Farul Constanta(currently on 13'th place in Romania), Poli has won with a score of 4-1.
